There might be some who are not up to speed on my situation, so let me do that before I go any further. Back in March or so of this year, I started researching and applying with organizations to volunteer with that perform some sort of service. To make the whole story a lot shorter, I have contacted, applied, visited, interviewed, and been invited to join with a hospitality center in downtown Phoenix, AZ called Andre House (www.andrehouseaz.org). The provide services for the poor and homeless in Phoenix at a central location on South 11th Avenue in Phoenix.
The West Point side of this is quite cumbersome, as I have had to resign as a cadet and now have to begin reapplying to get back in for next year. I depart for Phoenix on this Friday (27JUL07) and we (the "core community," 9 staff members) depart from there for Rocky Point, Mexico for a week-long retreat.
