Welcome to the neighborhood

This morning I had my official welcoming party into my new neighborhood. I was walking back from my overnight stay at the women’s transitional house to the staff house, which is a walk of two short blocks. Things don’t happen to people in the broad daylight- right? Well, it turns out that some of the neighbors, about 4 houses away from ours, owns two large pit bulls. And they don’t always tie them up. So at 0800 this morning, I found myself fighting two angry dogs. Nothing terrible happened, fortunately one of them was only able to get his teeth on my shirt. They lost interest when I started yelling at them, but I came pretty close to either kicking one in the teeth or pulling out my knife and skinning the dumb things. For sure next time I will call the police.

Well Gib this is a topic you do not wish to start with me. Obviously you do not know much about the breed Pit Bulls. First off they are not dumb dogs by any means and second off instead of taking it out on the dogs take it out on the owners. They are only doing what they are taught to do.
These dogs are very loving, loyal, strong and athletic dogs. They are known to do what they are taught to please their owners. If you really want to be fair about it why not go buy a book on the breed and learn a little bit about them before you start passing judgment on them. Aren't we taught to never judge?
Last but not least I am sure any dog and be taught to be an aggressive animal not just Pit Bulls. So next time you come across a dog that gives you some attitude and it is not a Pit Bull make sure to post that as well.
Oh and one more thing for all you may know that can be a mixed breed and not a pure bred Pit Bull. Pit Bulls are not born aggressive or attack dogs. They have to be taught that. So take it from soemone who has had 11 years worth of experience with the Breed and who has never once had one dog attack a person. It is all on the owner Gib! All on the owners!
